.publ.pt Domains under .publ.pt may be registered by the owners of periodical publications, please note that they have to be registered at the ICS (Instituto da Comunicação Social)
.com.pt The is no restriction to the nature of the owners of domains under .com.pt but note that once registerd the domains are not transmissible; therefore its ownership may not be transferred to another entity.
.nome.pt Domains under .nome.pt may be registered any one who is a bearer of a Portuguese identity card, though the bearer need to have a valid residence authorization title. In order to register a name under .nome.pt the following rule needs to be obeyed, Two or more names of the names indicated in the identity card or title of residence of the requester, one of which must be a surname. Though the name may be an acronym or abbreviation unless this composition creates an already given name or a last name. Please note that the name of the sub domain should coincide with the denomination of the owner or acronym of it, or with the name of projects or actions by it developed or to develop or with abbreviation.

.pl is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Poland, officially known as the Republic of Poland, a country found in Central Europe. Background

The ccTLD, meaning the country code top - level domain, for Hungary is .hu. Applications and registrations are submitted and managed by accredited registrars.

If applying for a .hu domain name space, it is necessary that have possession over a resident permit for Hungary or any country within the European Union.

Names are given to registrants on a 'first come, first serve' basis. As soon as a name is applied for and verified, any other applications sent for the same name are deleted. This is to stop any confusion.

The following conditions must be read and met when deciding on the name for your domain space:

  • The minimum amount of characters allowed is 2, the maximum being 40. This does not include 'http://www.' or '.hu'. It is suggested that the name is kept to 5 - 10 characters.
  • Roman alphabet characters (a-z) can be used along with lower case characters from the Hungarian alphabet with accent. These are as follows: á, é, í, ó, ö, ő, ú, ü, and ű.
  • Digits 0-9 can be used.
  • The only specialized character that is acceptable in the domain name is the hyphen (-) yet they cannot be placed at the end of beginning of the name. Two hyphens cannot follow after each other.

Background

.bi is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Burundi. First established in 1996, the domain has been operated by NIC.BI. The official sponsor for the domain is the Burundi National Centre of Information Technology.

The .bi domain registry runs a very liberal naming policy regarding domain name applications. Registrations are not limited to use within Burundi and are available to anyone. Companies registering a .bi domain do not have to have a local presence in the country. Companies that are deemed as "undesirable" by the NIC must register a domain name that represents the business.

There are only a few restrictions regarding the naming policy set by the Burundi NIC. Most importantly, the domain must not be considered vulgar or misleading by the NIC.

Normally domain names must be at least three characters in length. Should you contact the registry in advance, one or two character domains may be considered. At present, individuals and companies may register as many domain names as they desire.

It is frowned upon by the NIC to use the suffix for Burundi (.bi) as a way to mislead people. The Burundi NIC do not wish their TLD to be used in the same way as the .TV domain is regularly used to represent television. They insist that .bi is representative of Burundi and nothing else.

The NIC promotes the use of the .bi domain for local businesses and all governmental and non-governmental organisations. They also strongly encourage the .bi domain for all schools and educational institutions within Burundi.
