Background
The Internet Country Code Top-level Domain name (ccTLD) for Seychelles, or the Republic of Seychelles, is .sc. It is an Archipelago nation containing 115 islands within the Indian Ocean, around 1,500 kilometers east of mainland Africa. It contains the smallest state within Africa, population wise.
It is managed and registration is controlled by VCS (Pty) Limited and was first introduced in the year 1997. It was originally meant for use solely within Seychelles, yet business soon spread to countries such as Scotland and North Carolina. Either way, it is still subject to the Seychelles registry rules. A company who once marketed the .sc domain name internationally, not only within Seychelles, was Sc-registrars but they have since closed down.
Registrations of the domain name .sc are directly beneath second or third level. Various second-level domain names are listed as follows:

- .edu.sc : For Educational Institutions.
- .gov.sc : For use by Governmental Institutions.

.mu is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Mauritius. It is administered by the Mauritius Network Information Centre and registrations are processed via accredited registrars. Some registrars market it as the .music and .museum TLD.

.cx is the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Christmas Island.
The ccTLD for Christmas Island, meaning the Country Code Top-level Domain, is .cx. Administration of this domain name was originally done by a company set in Australia and the UK, yet economic problems resulted in the voluntary transfer of management to the Christmas Island Internet Administration (CIIA), previously known as Dot CX Limited. CIIA is a community based, non-profit company. They also have the job of providing Internet access to the Island's inhabitants.
Management was transferred by the local government of Christmas Islands though not accepted immediately by the Commonwealth Authority (they have some control over the Christmas Islands, taking some responsibility). Recently a Memorandum of Understanding has been published, declaring that Australia has accepted CIIA as the owner of the .cx domain name.
The Policy for CIIA users are under the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). Anybody who had made use of the .cx domain registry by obtaining a domain name, use the hardware, name servers, telecommunications transport, bandwidth, zone files or e-mail routing service can be classified as a CIIA user. The right to modify or update the AUP is reserved by the AUP. If any changed have been made, it will be posted on their website which is given above.
.cx is used for various different types of website, many not being based within the Christmas islands. If you want your domain name to be more specific to the company or organisation, a third-level domain can be used such as 'gov.cx'. No restrictions for the ccTLD are placed in the registration.

".us" is the official country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the United StatesThe ".us" top-level domain (usTLD) was established in 1985 as the official country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the United States. Today the ccTLD ".us" is administered by NeuStar.
Due to the strong patritism that exist through out America a lot of businesses use ".us" domain names to promote themselves as being American. This inspires the american consumers confidence and hence encourages them to "buy American". Market research has also shown that ".us" names are very popular with consumers for applications like email and personal web sites and digital identity. ".us" domain names are available to citizens or permanent residents of the United States of America (any possessions or territories of the United States of America). Organisations incorporated in the USA can also register ".us" domain names. Government and public interest organizations use .US addresses to enable citizen-centric e-Gov applications and to serve the needs of the American people.
Foreign organisations who have a genuine presence in the USA (or its' possessions or territories) can also register under ".us", this includes a local office or branch.
The registry ask for certain items of information which together form "Nexus Values", (See bottom of the page for more detailed information) these basically catagorise the class of the registrant applying for the domain name. This separates a company from an individual, and a USA citizen from a foreign organisation with a US presence. If you are based outside of the USA, you need to provide your country of citizenship.
Today any U.S. citizen or resident, as well as any business or organization, including federal, state, and local government with a bona fide presence in the United States can register a ".us" domain name.
To be more clear, in order to register a ".us" domain name one of the following eligibility requirements needs to be met:
• "Any entity or organization that is incorporated within one of the fifty (50) U.S. states, the District of Columbia, or any of the United States possessions or territories or (ii) organized or otherwise constituted under the laws of a state of the United States of America, the District of Columbia, or any of its possessions or territories."
• "An entity or organization (including federal, state, or local government of the United States, or a political subdivision thereof) that has a bona fide presence in the United States. See Section B.3.1 of the NeuStar proposal to the Department of Commerce for details concerning what constitutes a 'bona fide presence'."
• "A natural person (i) who is a citizen or permanent resident of the United States of America or any of its possessions or territories or (ii) whose primary place of domicile is in the United States of America or any of its possessions, or"
In order to register a ".us" domain the follwing information will have to be provided. (Please note that this is the minimum required information and aditionall information might have to be added in certain cases):
• The prefered domain name;
• The name and postal address of the domain name Registrant;
• The name, postal address, e-mail address, voice telephone number, and (where available) fax number of the name holder and technical contact for the name registered;
• The IP address and corresponding names of the name servers for the registered name (both primary and secondary);
• The Registrar name and URL or, where appropriate, the identity of the delegated manager under whom the name is registered;

Responsible for managing the Internet Domain Names Registry for the country code top-level Domain for Jersey (.je) and Guernsey (.gg) is the Channel Islands Internet Domain Name Registry.
When you have registered a domain name, it does not give any legal rights to that name. Any disputes the occur over a particular name can then be settled through normal legal methods. A registration is subject to a person and therefore a reply cannot be given in an instance.
The Channel Islands Internet Domain Name Registry try their best to process all applications with two to three working days. Excluded from this are any domain names that are told to be particularly important. If you contact the registrar and let them know the same day that you have applied, they will try get your application processed quicker. The minimum period for registration of a .gg domain name is one year.
There is a list of reserved names that are not to be used for the public. It is kept by the Insular Authorities, also known as the Island's governments. These reserved names are certain words or string patterns to allow future expansion If a name that you have applied for is similar to one of these reserved names, it is possible that the request will be declined.
Terms which must be read when choosing a domain name are as follows:
- Characters accepted are from the Roman Alphabet (a-z).
- Digits 0-9 are allowed.
- The only specialised character allowed is a hyphen (-).
- The first and last characters cannot be a hyphen as it is currently not offered by the Internationalised domain name (IDN).
- If you want a domain name consisting of only number or two hyphens, it is not guaranteed that it will be accepted.
