Registrations are open to anyone, there are no residency requirements but non-Armenian applicants are charged a higher price.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The registry state:

Applications for "too generic" domain names may be refused. Widely known trademarks or names may be registered by their owners only.

If you can prove a right to a domain name which may be unavailable because it is considered "too generic", the registry may issue that name at its own discretion.

The registry also forbid registrations which meet the following criteria, unless you can prove a right to the name:

  • Geographical names
  • country names
  • two/three-letter country codes (ISO 3166 Country Codes)
  • widely known acronyms and abbreviations
  • generic terms
In registering under .am, the applicant agrees to the following:

" To her/his knowledge, the use of this name does not violate trademark or other statutes"

The maximum length of a .am name is 63 characters, including ".am".

  • Population is estimated to be approx 3,231,900 people
  • Gross Domestic Product is $19.298 billion US Dollars
  • Languages recognised in Armenia are Armenian

The Internet Country Code Top-Level Domain (ccTLD) for Colombia is .co. It has been managed by .CO Internet since 2009 when the company won a Bid process during the end of the year, run by the Colombian Government.

From July 2010, it will be possible for anyone to register for a .co domain name, Colombian residence will not be necessary. It will be given on a 'first come, first served' basis for the first-level .co, and the second-level .com.co, .net.co and .nom.co. This eliminates any potential disputes between two parties.

  • edu.co : Only Educational entities that are recognised by the Minister of Education in Colombia can register under this domain name.
  • .gov.co : Only Government entities within Colombia can register under this domain name.
  • .mil.co : Only those part of the Military Force within Colombia can register under this domain name.
  • .org.co : Only non-commercial organizations based within Colombia can register under this domain name.

Certain criteria must be met when registering for domain names under the ccTLD .co. These are as follows:

  • Letters of the Roman Alphabet (a-z) can be used.
  • Digits 0-9 can be used.
  • A hyphen (-) can be used. It must not be the first or last character of the domain name.
  • Spaces are not acceptable.
  • The maximum amount of characters in a domain name is 63, yet 24 is recommended for practical reasons.

.sm is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for San Marino, officially known as the "Most Serene Republic of San Marino", a country found in the Apennine Mountains. It was introduced to San Marino in 1995 and it is operated and sponsored by Telecom Italia San Marino and it is intended for entities connected with San Mario, though it is not popular.

Although applicants are restricted to applying for only three domain names under .sm if they provide proof of identity, companies and organisations may apply for up to fifty domain names. This applies to international companies as well. This is done so directly at second-level.

Provided by the Naming Authority (NA), there are various rules and regulations registrants and applicants must follow. If these guidelines are broken, applications for a .sm domain name may be rejected. There is a maximum length of 63 characters and a minimum of 3 - and this excludes the domain's suffix. These characters can only include the Latin alphabet (a-z), digits (0-9) and hyphens (-). Hyphens cannot be place at the beginning or end of a domain.

The following groups of names are reserved and will not pass the NA (Naming authority) rules regarding available domain names:

  • names made up of one or two characters
  • geographic names and initials of the Republic of San Marino, names and initials of the Castelli (municipalities) and places of the Republic of San Marino
  • persons' names (Silvio, Alejandro .etc.)
  • names of gTLDs (e.g. org, biz, com, net etc.)
  • all units of measurement (Km, Mhz, etc.)
  • names of protocols (e.g. http, ftp etc.)
  • names of technologies (e.g. gsm, umts, esp)
  • names referring to gaming and to betting in general
