Once the domain is registered
All Montenegran domain names registered with us are stored on our international server. Domains registered with us are automatically provided with their own under-construction page - this notifies potential registrants that the name has been acquired and is now registered. The under-construction page is offered free of charge and may be used indefinitely.
It is possible for Web and/or Mail forwarding to be provided for Montenegran domains.

Background
In Montenegro, the ccTLG .me is used. This country code was received once Montenegro gained independence in 2006. The people where proud of what they had achieved, and additional measures were taken by the new government of Montenegro to formalised the countries independence. An application was submitted to IANA to set the domain name of .me as the countries Top Level Domain, also know as TLD. This was approved later on in September 2007.
The registration process is divided into two different organisations. Second level registrations, meaning they are directly under .me, are set in a 'first come, first serve' basis.
The ccTLD .me has great potential for users from other countries. It is part of the English language and is used as a personalised web address or a catchy marketing tool. This causes them to be high in demand and some of the premium names such as 'Call.me', 'Drive.me' or 'Marry.me' are auctioned off at high prices. An example is of the domain name 'Date.me' which was sold for $7,000.
Third level domain names are reserved for those who are living in Montenegro or have contacts within the country. Some sub domains under the domain space .me are listed below:

The University of Montenegro's Centre of Information Systems, known as CIS, is responsible for these sub-domains and should be contacted directly. Here they are as follows:
- edu.me (educational)
- gov.me (government)
The Terms of the .me domain names are that is registered with Sunrise, it can only be for a minimum of five (5) years and a maximum of ten (10) years. Land Rush domain names have a much different minimum of two (2) years minimum registration and a maximum of ten (10) years. Open Registration Domain names may be registered for two (2) years minimum and ten (10) years maximum.
If wishing to register a domain name under .me, the name must meet the following criteria:
- .me Domain names must be atleast 3 characters length with a maximum of 63 characters, not including the extension (.me)
- .me Domain names can only contain the Latin alphabet, letters a-z and digits 0-9
- .me Domain names are only allowed to contain hyphens as long as the the name is not begun or ended with it. It is also not allowed in the third and fourth position.
- IDNs, meaning Internationalised domain names, could be offered in the future, yet right now the registry does not accept accent marks or cyrillic characters etc.
- Population is estimated to be approx 678,177 people
- Gross Domestic Product is $3,557 billion US Dollars
- Languages recognised in Montenegro are Serbian, Bosnian, Albanian and Croatian
